My Run-away

Yesterday I decided that I needed to run away from the house. I had all my chores done and had sent my manuscript to the publisher. It just seemed like a day to "get-away."

At first I invited a girlfriend to go with me to the Art Museum to a show that I have wanted to see but her sister was visiting so they couldn't go.

My next choice was the Milwaukee Domes. These are three large glass domes that house different environments. When I got there, they weren't charging any one to get in including the three bus-loads of children from a grade school outside of this area. So as you can imagine there were children all over the place. It made for a rather nice environment for me as I had spent most of my last four months as a recluse, writing my book.

I enjoyed the energy of the children and their curiosity is the most exciting thing about children. They were busy but well behaved and it was just fun to be with that much energy.

I walked through the "desert" dome and watched the children touch the plants with thorns on them, then back off.

I saw a man studying the fruit of a tree that looked like olives but the tree wasn't that of an olive tree. I asked him what it was and he didn't know so I went around the tree and found out it was a Dragon Blood tree that was over 100 years old. I remember someone wanting information on Dragon Blood at one time in the past and I had done research on it. I remembered that the sap or resin was used in the Middle East a great deal. I don't remember more about it at this time.

Walking on I found my friend Chaparral and asked her for one of her leaves. Thanking her, I chewed on it.

Next I went into the Tropical dome. The humidity had really changed. In the "tropical" dome, the children were marveling at the size of the fish in the pond.

I am in the market for some art for the cover of my book so my target was to find "Magic" in here, in some form. The children were starting to be rounded up and put back on the bus so it was a bit quieter now. I noticed a man taking a picture of the flower of a bromide so I went over to see how it came out. He did a good job. Later I saw a man taking pictures so I asked if he had found "magic" here, he smiled and told me it was everywhere. Then I saw a lady with a very expensive camera on the other side of the dome and hoped that she would stay there while I followed the paths. I went up to her and asked if she had found "Magic". She told me that she was looking for it. She is a painter and is in the middle of changing what she paints. I told her why I was asking and we exchanged cards. Then she introduced me to the man that I had talked to a little while ago, explaining that he was a professional photographer visiting from Scotland. I got his card. She told me to look at her paintings on her website and gave me her card. I was about to leave she introduced me to her husband, the man who was studying the Dragon Blood fruit.

As I walked off after telling them that it was nice to have met them, she came running up with her camera to show me a picture that her husband had taken earlier that day of one of her plant paintings. It was very nice.

I left that area and went into the dome that was outfitted as an English garden but on this day, it had three model trains running around in the center and a lot of things made with Legos from bridges to building.

I walked to the far side of the dome and found a little path that wandered off the main path a short way. It went about four feet and up a bit to a small platform that held a bench. I took out my book and decided to read for a while. The train sounds gave the whole place a waterfall sound that made this area seem very comfortable.

While sitting there, people of every kind would pass by on the main path. I would see a group of three ladies admiring some planting arrangement. There were a lot of older people with small children, Grandparents with Grandchildren? Some of us were by ourselves and maybe some of the "onlys" were really just waiting for someone else in another area.

While reading, a Mom and her friend came by followed by a few pre-school children; one little girl about four years old, came off the main path and started toward me. Her Mother noticed and called her back but she kept coming. When she got within a few feet of me, she held out her right hand to show me her flower ring. She was all dressed in purple and pink, the ring was too. I told her that it was so pretty and matched her outfit, and then asked if purple and pink were her favorite colors. She said, "yes" and retreated down the path. I thanked her for showing it to me and she turned once more with her hand outstretched to let me see it again.

I went back to my book. After reading for a while, I decided to find out what time it was so I packed my book and my water bottle back in my bag and got up. As I was walking out, a Grandmother was trying to call a small boy of about three to come over to her. The boy had a mind of his own and was all over the place. I turned to the Grandmother and said, "Would that we had that much energy." She agreed as I went by. The little boy decided to follow me. I heard his Grandmother tell him to come back and then she told him to wait for Grandpa who was also following. I stopped and turned. I told the little boy to find his Grandpa. At that he just turned and pointed to Grandpa who was trying to catch up with us. The little boy knew just where Grandpa was. So I continued but found that he was still following me so I made a large circle back to Grandpa but the child was having none of that now so he continued straight ahead.

I went into another of the domes and was approached by a lady who told me that she is a cellist with the Milwaukee Sympathy and this was her way to regroup. We talked about a lot of things. One thing that she was telling me about having to do with plants was very interesting so I asked where she got that information. She wrote the name of the book that I might find it in. After that I decided it was time to head home.

As I hadn't paid anything to get into the Domes, I decided to buy a plant. I went to the gift shop and found a desert gift dish with three small cacti in it. I decided to get it. From there I went to where I had hung my coat.

As I was taking my coat and hat off the hanger, I noticed a small boy that was about two sitting on a bench watching me while his mother was talking to another mother and dressing another child. He just stared at me so I smiled and said "Hi" a couple of times. He didn't react at all. I had my coat and hat on as I started to walk by, his mother wanted to dress him in his coat but he kept his eyes on me to the point where she turned around to look at me. Then he raised one hand and waved "Good-bye" to me as I left.

What a wonderful run-away. Not only did I get to interact with plants but people. I love people and because of that I created a mystery book club so I could interact with other people once a month. Perhaps that it isn't enough for me and I will have to find other ways to be around people and plants.

More Questions Than Answers

The question of the day is "WHY". That seems to be it. Why should I publish another herb book? People don't really want one. They want to go to the drug store and look through all the bottles until one tells them that this will help arthritis or knee pain. They don't care if it isn't going to fix the problem; they just want the problem elevated for the time being. Maybe they will go a step further and go to a health food store and buy a bottle that says arthritis relief thinking that it is an herbal combination when in fact it is herbs combined with chemicals.

Why? Why would I write a book telling them about different plants when they can ask their neighbor what worked for them? People do not want healing. For most of them they don't think that it is possible to heal anything unless the medical profession gets involved in killing the bacteria, virus, fungus or parasite with chemicals.

No one wants to take the time to find out either what plants would be helpful or how to do this.

Last week I heard about a lady who is having a hip replacement next month. So for a month she is going to take pain killers and then after her surgery she will be cured. She does not know that once that body has been invaded, the discomfort will be with her for the rest of her life. If she would read my article on Slippery Elm, a few things might change. One; it might be possible to help the body rebuild the area the way it was originally and two: she has no business walking around on a bad hip or one that is bad enough to warrant replacement. Does she care? NO!

My sister did this same thing. She told me that the Doctor's would fix her. After the doctors gave up on her, then she thought that she would try herbs? Too little, too late! She died in 2005.

People are so busy that they can't take the time to find out things for themselves. Let someone else do it.

When was the last time you allowed the world in? Well, I had better clarify that. We have so much "noise" around us all the time that we couldn't hear a plant if it was screaming at us and they do! When was the last time that you sat on the grass and just listened to the world around you? What did you hear? (I'm sorry, I forgot that you can sit on your lawn because of all the chemicals that you have sprayed on it)

Have you ever heard a plant cry? Have you ever heard a tree sigh? Most of us are too busy or our world is too loud. We wouldn't even need herb books if we could walk up to plants and listen to what they could do for us. They might not know what chemicals they contain, just as we don't know what our blood pressure reading is at any one time but they know if they can help and will be more than willing to assist us.

I believe that there was a time when God's creation told people what they could do. The books say that we learned about herbs from watching animals and seeing what they ate or used. That isn't my belief. There was a time when most people could commune with nature. Now very few do.

My son told me that I should write a book about what plants were edible, sort of a survival book because most people don't know what they can eat and what they can't. Would that do any good? Do most people know a Purslane from a Plantain in their yards? So Survival will depend on finding a way to talk to the plants.

How do we go about doing that? The plant world has given up on us for the most part. "People just want to cut, mow or kills us with sprays. Even their domesticated animals don't hear us anymore." I have a lot of friends who tell me that they can't have a house plant or it dies.

What kind of energy is coming from a person like that? I often wonder if they kill fish and kittens too.

I have seen people who get a kitten and then due to the anger in the human, the kitten grows up to be a really angry cat. I even took care of a cat like that. He hated everyone. I took him in for a year while his owner was relocating. I was the only person that he wouldn't tear apart. He hated everyone but tolerated me. I felt so sorry for that little being.

How about the dogs that are treated badly and then have to be "put down" because they have become "bad dogs." Just writing about this hurts me so much. These animals are not bad, they just take on the personality of their owners. I have read where this is helpful for the humans that own them or the humans would be sicker than anything if their animals didn't dissipate some of that anger. What a job those little beings took on to help humans.

So these people will never be able to communicate with the subtle energy of a plant or plants.

It is the plant angels that are best at interfacing with humans. They are Devas or Beings of Light. We all have angels around us and so do plants. By relaxing around plants and trying to fit into their world, Devas will assist you with information that might be helpful. Most people call this meditating but that is an eastern concept that we have adopted. When we relax and allow our brains to resonate on a different level than our day to day pace, we have moved into the area that subtle beings are able to communicate with us.

At first you might find that they are surprised to find that you even want too. Most humans don't want to be bothered. Their next thing is to play games with you. They like to have fun but no matter what is happening, they do want to help.

I think sometimes that this planet will shift to the point where only the people who get back to listening to it will survive. Does that mean just me? NO, there are a lot of people who are capable of listening but for some reason they didn't like all the distractions of the world so they run around with ear plugs in, listening to some music that they want to hear. My feeling is that a lot of young people can do this. This is my hope for the world.

We have so much input these days. Would it be bad if we ran out of petroleum? If our machines couldn't work and we had to go back to the beginning? Most of us would say, "Yes, it would be bad? " We like it this way with cars and trucks, trains and planes, lawnmowers, and skill saws and all the other machines that make racket. I live in a rather quiet neighborhood and it is still noisy with human noises.

The best time to talk to the Devas is after dark, (when humans have gone in to their dwellings) and in the wintertime (When repair work can't be done and lawns can't be mowed.)

I love snow because the Devas have tucked in most of the plants for the "long winter's night" and are available to talk. What have I learned from them? They want to co-create with humans. They want to help us create what we want. If we don't have any ideas, they will fill in with other things that we might call "weeds". If you’re an herbalist, you know that there aren't such things as weeds, only plants that are in the wrong place. As I have mentioned in other places, my best friends are on the Ortho list at Sears to be killed with this or that Ortho product.

Will people ever learn how to do this? Does anyone really want to? So that brings me back to my original question, Why write an herbal book?

Secrets

Yesterday I bumped into a wonderful and exciting word, Secrets. What is a secret? It is something that we keep hidden from the light of day for a reason.

I just looked up the word Secret in the dictionary and there are more definitions of it than letters in the word. It talked about everything from mystery to national security.

All of that sounded interesting but on a personal level, a secret is just something that you would rather others not know about.

When we were little everything that was around us was a mystery so when we learned about it, it seemed natural to share this with everyone else who might like to know about this mystery. Maybe they did and maybe they didn't want to know, perhaps they already knew but sharing the mysterious information was great.

Little at a time we found that some of the things that we learned about could and did hurt other people when revealed. So we learned to keep some of these mysterious things to ourselves.

We parked them in a place called the "hidden secret cave" which is located in the cortex of our brain. This can only be accessed by a password. Some of us put this all under the password of Guilt. Guilt isn't the only password to this area. A lot of people have it under the password of Prejudice. (Think of this in terms of Pre-judging.)

When a secret starts to build and expands, it naturally wants to get out of the cave. What do we do then? Most of us share this with a close friend, someone who will keep the secret with us so we don't have to carry such a big load. Once the door of the secret cave has been opened on a specific secret, it can never be shut again. There is someone out there that knows our secret. Does that make it "not" a secret any longer?

Not really but the side effect is that the person this was shared with now knows what a terrible person we are. The Secret doesn't make us terrible people but over years we have added to it until we are sure that if people knew about it, they wouldn't think well of us. The fact is that most people are so wrapped up in their own world that what is going on in other people's world, isn't that important.

There is an exception to what I have just said and that is when the person needs to feel that they are a lot better than you are. When this type of person gets information that would make you look smaller or terrible, they need to tell the world. I have run into people who have such small minds that they have no place to keep a secret, theirs or yours. The In and the Out door is always open.

As you can see, telling someone your secret can be very dangerous.

Let's go back to why we keep secrets again, basically so that we don't hurt ourselves or others. Yet to keep the secret seems to be hurting us; it is a conundrum that we don't want to face. So what do we do with all of this pain that keeps imposing itself on us without our consent?

What I have learned about this is to give it to a stranger. The guy on the bus, a counselor or any other stranger that you will never encounter again. (And probably never wants to hear from you again either.) Once the stranger has it, I let go of it. It no longer has a residence in my brain. Yes, I can think about it from time to time but it does not live inside of this body anywhere.

I am getting ahead of myself. First one needs to handle any problems that the secret entails. If this means quitting a job because I have to lie to make quota, so be it. If it means eliminating a relationship because I no longer wish to pretend to enjoy that person's company every Wednesday afternoon, so be it. If it means having an all-out talk with someone to clear the air, so be it. But then I am a Scorpion and we like to clear the air at all costs. (Sometimes it costs a great deal but again, so be it.)

Whatever the secret is, only the person keeping it feels like a bad person. The Secret is an experience that has been lived through or is being lived through. It has no power to hurt that person. The only power a secret has is hurting others or to make someone feel like they are terrible in the eyes of others.

Most of us do not want to hurt anyone so we take it upon ourselves to be hurt instead. The longer the secret festers, the more hurtful it becomes. Sometimes one has to cauterize a wound to make it better and by confronting the problem that created this secret, we do just that. Telling a friend the secret does not handle the problem that created this secret.

Again, one must test the water and find someone with whom to share our secrets. I have found that some people are most trust worthy and others are not. Choose wisely.

We are all one

Isn't it interesting when all the things that you believe start to show their faces? Lately I have been finding this happening.

I enjoy watching the WORLD channel on TV and a few days ago they were talking about string theory. This is something that scientist have been working on for a while. The premise is that mass particles and waves are inter-changable. Let's see if I can put this a little simpler. According to what I understand, matter can be made up of particles and sometimes these particles turn into waves or vice versa.

While watching my favorite program, this lecturer was talking about turning gasses into liquid etc. I find that fascinating but then he mentioned the particle/wave idea and I sat up quickly. He went on to talk about the Einstein Bose Condensate. This sounded interesting, something new for my mind to wrap around. (Learning is my erotic zone.) So what was this new idea? It was the fact that matter can be made up of particles and/or waves and sometimes when the waves have been altered a bit by extreme cold, they become each other.(He went into Absolute Zero, another interesting concept but this will wait until later.) As one can see, I don't have the Einstein Bose Condensate theory down but I do understand this last part, they become each other.

They become each other is the center of my life. It is a concept that I have been embracing for a very long time. When I would have weekly talks with the Devas of Oakwell, they would continue to tell me that "We are one." That could have meant that they are all joined together but I really think that they were trying to tell me that all beings, and now all matter is one.

That sure would fit with my concept of the universe.

I read a book called TURNING HOME by Paul F. Eno and in it he talked about all sorts of things but what hit me from that book was a Biblical translation that he quoted. I have never really felt that the Bible was translated the way it was written and he confirmed this. The quote that he used was Matthew 22:39. In the Bible it says, "Love your neighbor as yourself." Isn't that a beautiful thing to think about? But Paul Eno says that the original Greek that this comes from is, "agapesis ton plaision sou os seauton." He even underlines the "os" in this. He said that the real translation is: "Love your neighbor because he is yourself." And they become each other.

When you hurt, I hurt. When you are happy, I am happy. We are all one.

That really doesn't seem to fit into our world, does it? I am different from you. I am a certain political party member. I am a certain religious member. I am a certain race. I am……. But what am I really. I am you!

Will we ever really understand that concept? What would happen if we did? Would we stop fighting? Do we need the separation to be ourselves? Are we afraid of losing our identity?

Yesterday a lady stopped by to chat. She was telling me about a long time friend of hers who just decided that they were no longer friends. The lady mentioned that maybe it was a good thing as they didn't have much in common anymore. They do, they have life in common but it isn't always enough.

Why do people come and go in our lives? God created us in his image to experience life on this planet. Does that mean that we are each different? No, it means that we are all in our own experience of this life. We
collect experiences and they shape what we think and how we feel about everything. Does that make us different? To the degree that each experience impinges on our soul, that would be a "yes".

I don't really know anyone who is not experiencing major trauma in some manner at this time. We are all being forced to learn. The climate in the world is about change, in all aspects and each of us is being forced to learn so that we can do this.

Many years ago, when I was finding myself being super sensitive to those around me, I would get a pain in some part of my body. It might be a headache or a pain in my knee. I found that by looking around me at the people who were near me, then going inside my head and asking "Is it yours?" while looking at one person, it would go away. If not I would continue my search. To test this out I would go up to that person and ask if they had a headache. They might say something like, "Does it show?" I would make up something to answer this like, "Your eyes looked dark. I just thought you might have a headache." (I don't get headaches) How about the knee problem? "You seem to be favoring that leg." I took on the physical problems of those around me. We are all one.

I had to work very hard to shield myself from the problems of others. We have been taught to shield ourselves from each other until we think…..Yes, we only think we are separate beings on this planet.

We are all one! Find yourself in those around you. We are part of the life force on this planet, we are all one!

Perspective

Unless you have experienced something, it is hard to really believe it. At least that is my opinion when it comes to reincarnation.

I think we all get glimpses but they don't register in our minds.

An example might be the time my husband and I were visiting the wharf in San Francisco a few years ago. There was a three-mast ship one could board. We went on deck and were looking around. Then we went below to the hold, where the ceilings were very low and lumber had been transported. I looked around and noticed that my husband had turned a lovely shade of pale green. He seemed to be in a state of shock. I took his arm and walked him off the ship. There had been no motion on board but I am sure he recognized something that was impinging on his present world. It explained why he dislikes boats of any kind, big or small. It also explains why we don't live near water.

The first time I had a dream that didn't fit my world was in the '60's. In the dream, I was a little girl and found myself at a grow-up party. That was only because my mother was working there. I was wearing my pretty pink dress with white shoes and pink stocking. I went to find my mother who turned out to be a beautiful Black Lady. I looked down at my arms and legs and I was black too. Was it a dream or a memory?

I remember working in an English castle. My job was to clean the floors and put fresh straw down, to close the shutters as it starts to cool in the evening and start the fires in the fireplaces. My husband worked there also. He was the falconer.

Are these just dreams? I thought so until I re-experienced my death in 1922, where I was repairing a bridge. I wrote about this in one of my blogs.

How about the time that I was teaching a class and a student came in and sat down. My mind remembered her. In my mind she held me while I died; I don't remember the year on this. She had a long velvet dress/coat and a hat/bonnet on. She came out into the roadway where I, as a small child, had just been run down by a team of horses. She picked me up and held me as I looked into that beautiful face and died.

I have remembered giving birth near a Chinese rice patty, and being a huge black man working a forge in the old west and being a medicine man with a small tribe of Native Americans.

My question is: if we have lived so many lives in so many places; if we have belonged to every religion in the world; if we have been a member of every race how can we now be prejudice toward anyone?

The Lumber Yard

The back of our house was being remodeled. We were adding a large covered patio and had a couple of men working on it. These guys were friends of my husbands and one of them asked if I would run to the lumber yard to get a few things so they could finish an area before the weekend.

With the two older children in school and Blaine at home (Being only 4), He and I could jump into the car to get what they wanted.

The lumber yard is a wonderful place. There are piles of lumber all over in the yard, the hardware is found in the building. I look around for what I thought they will want. My job was to make sure that the boards weren't twisted (they get that way laying around in the yard after being dried out) also checking that they didn't have a lot of knots in them, a few knots will be O.K. on the project that they are doing.

Finally I am ready to check out so we load the stuff into my station wagon, now where is my four year old. He was running around the piles of lumber and hiding behind things in the yard. The yard is all fenced in with an 8 foot wooden fence so he has to be in here. The guy that was helping me organize my purchase is now helping me look for him. There is no way he could have gotten out of here so it is just a matter of finding out where he is.

After spending about an hour looking for him under and over everything, I know that I am holding up the guys at the house so I give my phone number to the salesman and tell him that when my son shows up, call me and I will be back in 10 minutes. I get into the car and take the lumber home.

On arriving home, I find that my four year old is home and helping the carpenters. I asked when he got home and they tell me that some man dropped him off about half an hour ago. The man asked them if this little boy lived there. The carpenter said that he did.

Then the man mentioned that he was a doctor that lived 300 miles south of this town but that he found this little boy on the street so he said that he would take him home. The boy directed him to this house. My four year old told me that he went out the door at the lumberyard and didn't know where I was so he stood on the street until this man stopped and wanted to know where he lived.

How many times in a lifetime do we come close to losing things that are important to us? Is it a sign that perhaps they don't belong to us in the first place. At what point are we supposed to let go?

The Apple Garden

Our house is on a corner lot where two streets meet. At this corner of our property, live two apple trees. They were planted in a set of three by the previous owners but one of them had died and was still standing there when we moved in. The dead tree was removed and the area mowed cleanly.

Mowing around the remaining two trees was a problem for my husband so I decided to create a small garden area under them. My first thought was to decide what I wanted to create. I decided on a football design with the area between them being wide and ready for some planting.

It was Spring and time to begin the digging. The temperature was in the 40s so I bundled up and headed out. First I dug around the area to do a lay out. Then I started to take the grass off the inner part of my design. These clods were tossed onto the yard and I spent most of the morning clearing the designated area. The design was perfect.

Then to get the area ready for plants, I had purchased a creeping Juniper to keep the corner low and visible for traffic in all directions.

First I dug up the ground and then dump a couple bags of peat and composted manure on the area. Now the best part, I got to mix all of this in with my hands. The soil was just right, it was like mixing biscuit dough. As I was mixing, I would throw the stones that I found out onto the lawn with the grass clods. Soon it was all mixed in. I stood back to admire the work that had taken me a long time to do and to my surprise, I found that there were energy waves rising from this little garden. They look like heat waves coming off black top roads in July and it wasn't that warm out.

I felt that I had to do something so I ran into the garage to get a slab of cement and brought it out to the little garden. After placing the cement between the two apple trees in this newly mixed dirt, I went around the whole garden picking up the little rocks and stones that I had thrown onto the surrounding grass. These stones were placed on this cement in a pile.
When I stood back this time, the energy had been grounded and the garden didn't look like it is about to float off into space. I was pleased with all of it and it was time to plant the Juniper.

The little garden looks wonderful and has done its job of keeping the lawnmower away from the base of the apple trees and the branches from knocking my husband off the little tractor.

Before I started this project, I had read a book called BEHAVING AS IS THE GOD IN ALL LIFE MATTERED, by Machaelle Small Wright. In this book she talks about communicating with the spirit guides of plants. I wrote to her and told her about this experience of mine and she wrote back telling me that she was pleased that I responded to the spirit guides nudging me to ground the garden. She explained that most people just read about this stuff but never do anything with it. It seems that these thoughts and feelings that we get are not always ours but help from other areas or beings.

Over the years this little garden has been enlarged bit by bit to encompass the trees as they grow. The garden also has a lot of wild violets living there along with some chickweed that I love to harvest. There is a lot of love and energy in that little garden and it tends to draw deer to it from the woods that are about half a mile from our house. The deer come in the spring for the violets. They love violet leaves. (I Have been told that violet leaves are very anti-cancerous, I wonder if the deer know this?)

The Chickweed, I like to harvest for all of its wonderful drawing properties. A few years ago some Columbine decided to live there and because I like their flowers, I leave them be. I do plant flowers on the street side of the garden, I like Calendula because I can harvest the flowers and the plant still puts out more. They aren't fussy plants and don't mind being neglected from time to time.

The Apple Garden gets visited by the deer in the fall too. They like the apples and we allow them to be eaten.

From time to time, I climb into the apple trees to trim the sucker out. What is the saying about apple trees? A bird should be able to fly through the center of the trees. This allows the sun and air to get into the tree and keep the trees healthy. I used to have a bird house in one of the trees but if finally fell apart. I really like bird houses and have only 3 on the premises at this time, will have to look into that. I do have a bee house in the apple trees at present so I probably won't put a bird house back there.

We have many small gardens in our yard so they all have their own names. The Apple Garden was an obvious name for this one.

Gardening is such a pleasure, one of the joys of life.
